Antibacterial Effects of Various Concentrations of Natural Ingredients Snail Mucus (Achatina fulica) Against Inhibition Zones of Fusobacterium nucleatum Causes Periodontitis In Vitro

Periodontitis is a microorganism that invades the subgingival area, thereby triggering an inflammatory response of periodontal tissue. Fusobacterium nucleatum one most abundant gram-negative bacilli colonizing plaque and closely associated with disease. The aim study was to calculate inhibition snail mucus against bacteria concentrations 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%. This used laboratory experimental test method conducted at Oral Biology Laboratory, Faculty Dentistry, Airlangga University. steps were performed are: plant germ stock sterile osse on BHI broth media then incubate for 48 hours, observe turbidity germs standardize mc farland standard 0.5, Hilton Muller agar spreading technique, treat sample paper disk as much 0, 01 ml micropipette, paste it surface so incubated hours. Then, measure diameter clear zone. results show average in control group 25.65 mm, 0 12.40 16.70 mm 100% 19.60 mm. There significant difference inhibitory power between treatment groups. conclusion antibacterial effect natural ingredients from 25% showed strong criteria, greatest concentration
